There’s no need to wait until Thanksgiving or even Halloween to start celebrating the holidays. Our Cleveland, Ohio roofing pros work hard to install new residential and commercial roofing as well as to handle roof restorations before Cleveland’s winter weather sets in. But that doesn’t stop us from finding time to celebrate the holidays – or from finding holidays to celebrate!
Now that we are vaccinated against covid, we can look forward to once again sharing the holidays with family and friends. In the meantime, you can join us in making up for lost time by celebrating a buffet of less well known holidays this September.
Delicious Diversions
- September 5 – National Cheese Pizza Day
Pizza with all kinds of toppings sure deserves celebration, but cheese pizza is the most popular. That’s why it has gotten its special day. It was 1958 in North America when Dan and Frank Carney borrowed money from their mother and opened Pizza Hut Kansas. According to Statista.com, pizza delivery reached $14 billion in 2020. We don’t wonder why.
- September 6 – National Coffee Ice Cream Day
Another day we would celebrate every day. Caffeine and ice cream – aren’t they a perfect combination? Giovanni Basiolo was the one to start selling a semi-frozen coffee and milk dessert in New York, and it became very successful. Coffee ice cream was first prepared as a parfait in 1869.
- September 12 – National Chocolate Milkshake Day
This classic treat is known to everyone. But do you know where it came from? Allegedly, a Walgreens employee made a milkshake by mixing two scoops of vanilla ice cream with the then-popular Walgreens malted milk drink. Besides this fact, can you imagine getting a milkshake in Walgreens?
- September 16 – National Guacamole Day
If you celebrate food, why not guacamole? We would celebrate it every day! It’s healthy, delicious, and nutritious! Guacamole is made of the avocado, which is considered a fruit. It’s one of the superfoods too, so you can eat as much as you want and not feel guilty!
If you look hard enough, you will find there is always something worth celebrating – whether it’s a delicious treat, the color of the changing leaves or the security of having a roof you’re your head.
